My first ever foray into publishing, was a series of book drawn on foolscap paper when I was seven. Thus began a life-long addiction to telling stories which I am glad to say I have never been cured of.
I had the headspace and experience to focus on writing when I turned forty, and I had three novels published by indie presses in 2012 onwards, though sadly not by the massively famous agency who picked them up first but then couldn’t get me a deal – such os the rollercoaster world of publishing. I took a few years out to take and MA and am now back in the submission trenches, but for the last eight years I have also been a creative writing coach and tutor for adult education.
Now that the council where I work has taken the completely backwards step of closing all creative education for adults including creative writing, I have been fortunate to become part of the Story Craft Academy launching in April 2025, who offer a range of lectures and online tutorials for writers all over the world. and where you can find me.
If you’ve found this page first, you can still book me for creative writing coach and find out about any face to face classes I am running, but Story Craft offer a wealth of interesting and informative content in a range of subscription packages so I really do recommend checking them out. https://www.storycraftacademy.org/

I do not use Ai in any part of the writing of my books, apart from spell check due to my dyslexia, and only in the most basic form. I would strongly suggest that any aspiring writers will never improve as a writer if they rely on Ai, as it is fed on stolen material. Why pay a billionaire and give them your voice, when it’s the only thing you have which is truly yours?
