Original artwork – The Forest Edge

The Forest Edge was inspired by not only my Wild Wide Woods, but also an image that came to me while reading ‘Withered Hill’ by David Barnett – if you like a bit of British Folk Horror, then I can highly recommend it.

What is created in me, was an image of the creatures of the Wild, Wide Woods standing squeezed between silver birch trees, as if waiting for you to pass and convinced you can’t see them. It’s ok, you can see them, but do them a favour and pretend you can’t. It makes them feel special and they won’t hurt you either way, though you may hear them giggle when they think you’ve gone past.

This is an original drawing on round paper which is then mounted on textured handmade paper, and framed in a box frame. The round image is 15 cm in diameter.
