'Skye and Spike Need A New Home' - Is the first book in a series by Don Howard, illustrated by me! Inspired by the stories he created for his Granddaughter Immy, it tells the tale of Spike and Skye, two blue parrots from Venezuela, who learn to be brave together and seek out new adventures. What is unique about Don's concept, is that his stories start with these bright and colourful picture books, but as the readers grow, so will the stories, blossoming into a series of novels for kids. They will be able to learn to read with the picture books, and find the characters again in the novels, growing with them into fluent literacy.
This is the first book in the series, with many more to come!
